Break a leg!

“I’m nervous. Very nervous. It’s my first ever dress rehearsal (as an adult) and last night was our one and only stage rehearsal before our taped performance tonight and unfortunately, it didn’t go so well…being on stage is just as frightening as I remember. There are bright lights. It’s hot. The stage is huge. The Mylar sticks to my taps and muffles the sound. Ugh.”

–Me, May 4, 2010

Welcome to dress rehearsal, 2011! I can honestly say I’m still nervous, the lights are still bright, it’s still hot, the Mylar still sucks but the stage isn’t quite as huge and overall I’m more excited than scared shitless, despite being in three routines instead of 10 seconds of one.  I’ve had a full week of rehearsal on stage in the theatre this time; I’m a bit calmer and I have a feeling I’ll pull it all together by showtime! I guess composure comes with experience. Bring it!

In other news, Florence is still killing it! (And hopefully I will too this weekend!)

“Fell in your opinion when I fell in love with you”

This just made me pee my pants in excitement.

Hip hop and tap! Genius. I knew there was a reason I was taking both this semester. These guys kill it.

Waiting and fading and floating away.

Summer school is here! Dancing nonstop from 10am to 6pm. I haven’t been this excited since I turned 25. Hopefully my old age won’t hinder me from keeping up with all the youngsters. Har har.

This time Baby, I’ll be bulletproof.

I have a new theme song. So much better than the last. And it looks like my friend NATO could have been the stylist for the video.

Enjoy! (For maximum enjoyment, turn volume up and dance around.)

Happy National Tap Dance Day!

Oh yeah.

And Happy Birthday to the late Bill “Bojangles” Robinson.

Life is a dance, from one stage to the next.

I had my first dance show since I was in elementary school over the weekend–Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It was terrifying and exciting and exhausting all at the same time. All in all, I’d say it was a success and I think I’ll do it again. I had a lot of fun and got to know some pretty cool people all while doing one of my most favorite things–dancing.
