Seen in the City.

I’ve decided to do a series on things I find unusual, funny, entertaining, etc. (basically anything that strikes my fancy) that I see while out and about in the city. Here are the first 2 for the week:

Last Friday: A man getting off of a bus with a service dog. Now when I write “service dog”, most think Lab, Golden Retriever or German Shepard, something of that nature in a vest, usually with two pouches of some kind on the sides of the vest. This was none of those dogs, this was a Chihuahua. Yes, a hyper, jumping, tiny Chihuahua with a service vest on with two little pouches on it. What could this dog possibly be servicing?! One pouch held his MUNI pass and the other…? My only guess would be keys or cigarettes, what more could he hold?

Seen today: Woman in work out attire walking out of 24 Hour Fitness, presumably after having completed her work out, lights up a cigarette and starts to smoke while making her way to her vehicle. I don’t even know what to say about this. What’s the point?

not to be a dick or anything…

…but in regards to the service dogs i had a similar encounter working at the pet food store i am indentured to. a man had a small (not chihuahua) service dog and i couldn’t quite grasp what for. turns out the gentleman was hard of hearing and the service dog had been trained to alert him to any noises that may be vital around the house, doorbell, telephone and things of that nature. he regarded the dog as a godsend…

    so you never know!
